Andalusia is the region most people picture when they think of a home in the Spanish sun. It stretches from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, taking in the Costa del Sol, whitewashed hill villages, the Alhambra in Granada, the sherry towns of Cádiz and the long, quiet beaches of Almería. At Homes-Abroad.com, we help English, Danish, Swedish, and other Northern European buyers find the right home here, whether that is a modern apartment near the sea or a village house in the mountains.

What Makes Andalusia Different?

Andalusia is large enough to offer almost any kind of Spanish life. Here is what draws our buyers:

  • Choice at every budget. Most of the homes we list in Andalusia fall between roughly €128,000 and €1.35 million, with a median asking price of around €449,000. Prices range from affordable village houses to some of the most expensive villas in Spain.
  • Established homes and new build. Around six in ten of our listings are resale properties, many in established towns and villages. The rest are new build properties, particularly on the western Costa del Sol.
  • Culture and landscape. Moorish architecture, flamenco, tapas and a long tradition of fiestas give Andalusia a character that is hard to find elsewhere in Europe, and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada are never far from the coast.
  • A well-developed market. Many Northern Europeans already live here, which means international schools, English-speaking doctors and lawyers, and a good choice of services in the main towns.

Where Should You Buy in Andalusia?

Our listings are in five provinces, with the large majority in Málaga. Here is how they compare.

Málaga province: the Costa del Sol

Málaga province holds most of our Andalusian listings. The Costa del Sol on the western coast is the most developed, with Marbella, Estepona, Mijas and Fuengirola, golf, marinas and a year-round social scene. The eastern Costa del Sol is quieter and more traditional, with white villages such as Cómpeta and Frigiliana above the coast.

Marbella, Estepona, Mijas and Fuengirola

These four towns have long been favourites with British and Scandinavian buyers. Marbella is the most prestigious, Estepona has a restored old town and many new developments, Mijas combines coastal apartments with a hilltop village, and Fuengirola has a long beach and good transport links.

Nerja, Torrox and Cómpeta

On the eastern coast, Nerja is the best-known town, Torrox has both a hill town and a seaside district, and Cómpeta is a mountain village known for its sweet wine. Prices here are generally lower than on the western coast.

Almería, Granada and Cádiz

Almería province has the Costa de Almería, one of the sunniest and most affordable parts of the Spanish coast. Granada province has the Costa Tropical, with a subtropical microclimate and the Sierra Nevada behind it. Cádiz province has the Atlantic Costa de la Luz, known for beaches, wind and the golf community of Sotogrande.

Córdoba

Córdoba is an inland province with a historic capital and a countryside of olive groves, for buyers who want culture and space rather than a beach. Our selection there is small, so contact us for what is available.

Why Choose Homes-Abroad.com?

We are not a generalist agency trying to serve everyone. We focus on helping buyers from the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands find the right property in Spain, and we have built everything around that mission.

  • We speak your language. Our team handles enquiries and viewings in English, Danish, and Swedish, so nothing gets lost in translation when it matters most.
  • Honest, no-pressure advice. We will tell you if a property is overpriced, if Andalusia does not suit your brief, or if a development has a track record worth knowing about. We would rather lose a deal than see a client make the wrong purchase.
  • Real listings, real prices. Our listings in Andalusia run from village houses to villas worth millions, and we will help you compare the coasts and the mountains before you decide.
  • End-to-end support. We connect you with trusted local lawyers, mortgage brokers, currency specialists, and property managers, building a reliable team around your purchase from day one.
